Opening Hours & Information

The fort is open to the public on Sundays from May to September from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fortress can be visited on these days without reservation.

To visit the fortress by appointment:
It is possible to visit the fortress in small groups accompanied by a guide (by appointment). If you are interested, please contact us via the contactform.

Fortcafé in fortress at Spijkerboor:
You can go to the fort café for coffee, tea, and Beemster fruit juice during the opening hours. Of course, we also have a delicious cookie or a piece of apple pie.

Meeting, events & wedding:
There is a large luxury tent of 12×6 meters on the fortress grounds, which can be rented for meetings & events. When it is a bit colder outside, you can sit under a patio heater.

A mobile (projection) screen, flip chart, and whiteboard are available on site. You can also enjoy a snack & drink. The robust mobile bar & outdoor kitchen are available. Of course, we can also provide full catering for you.

Sleeping accommodation for a total of 13 people is possible in the renovated barracks located in the front yard. More information about sleeping at the fort can be found under the link Nature Houses: Nature house 5 peopleNature house 8 people.

Accessibility:
There are disabled parking spaces close to the fort itself; drive into the small road and pass the fort guardhouse to the indicated spot. The forecourt and the ground floor are reasonably accessible, but the corridors are very narrow. There is a toilet for disabled visitors. The upper floor is only accessible by stairs, and the artillery is only accessible via a ladder.
